Absolutely. There are some critical news events that have a material impact on our lives, but 99% of it is junk food for your brain.
I haven't gone as far to delete email yet, largely due to the number of times in a day I need something accessible on my phone via email. But turning off notifications and leaving my phone on DND has made a large positive impact.
